After a long time
deliberating on whether or not to put out a rating system, I have decided to do
it as I realise that my reviews do seem over the top at times and usually give
the impression that I think a movie is either 10/10 or 0/10 with nothing in the
middle.
The After Credits Rating
system will consist of an out-of-10 rating for how well I think the film did according to
genre and also an ultimate overall rating as a film in general. Each number
does not represent a particular impression I have of a film. Films usually tend to
end up in a bell curve type scenario, meaning that there tends to be more
movies in the 5-7 ratings.
Every genre will have a chance to get the overall 10/10 rating and will be judged based on what the genre is meant to do and how well the film does what it set out to do. However, it will be tough to receive the 10/10 rating as the movie will have to be near perfect and stand up there with the likes of 'Back to the Future', 'The Princess Bride', 'Silence of the Lambs' and instant classics such as those. A film that I would want to watch at least once every year.
Below, you will find a list of genres that I will put films in as I see fit. I realise there are many genres in film but I will limit them to the following:
